Sri Sathya Sai Baba
Sri Sathya Sai Baba
Words of Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba from his Biography: "My Mission is to grant you Courage and Joy, to drive away Weakness and Fear. Do not condemn yourselves as sinners; sin is a misnomer for what are really errors, provided you repent sincerely and resolve not to follow Evil again. Pray to the Lord to give you the strength to overcome the habits which had enticed you when you were ignorant."
"I have come to light the lamp of Love in your hearts, to see that it shines day by day with added luster. I have not come on any mission or publicity for any sect or creed or cause nor have I come to collect followers for any doctrine. I have no plans to attract disciples or devotees into my fold or any fold. I have come to tell you of the Universal, Unitary Faith, this Path of Love, this Duty of Love, this Obligation to Love." (Sri Sathya Sai Baba, 4 July 1968)

Divine Memories of Sathya Sai Baba
By Diana Baskin
Birth Day Pub Co; (March 1990)
296 pages
ISBN: 1878599003

This is a rare and fascinating glimpse into the daily world of Sathya Sai Baba as told by an American woman whose family members were blessed to live as permanent residents in the ashram for over 20 years. It is a book of remarkable detail and panoramas of life at the Swami's lotus feet. As in few other books, the reader is given vivid insights into Swami's personality as well as his teachings. The author generously shares the details of her personal hardships as well as the extraordinary grace shown to her and her family by Swami. The pages are filled with insights, surprises, and countless beautiful memories of Swami. Seldom are the joys of the path of devotion so vividly revealed. Many photos of Swami with family members.

Back Cover

In January of 1968, Mrs. Rajagopal, Diana's mother told me about a man so wise and almighty that one's life became deep and meaningful in his presence. This so intrigued me that within a week my wife and I were in India and in the presence of Sathya Sai Baba.
Now, some 22 years later and after time spent with him each year, I can only say that his wisdom, the abundance and breadth of his love for all beings, and his seemingly limitless power so vastly transcends my worldly experience that to me and to a multitude of people Sathya Sai Baba is beyond human comprehension. In the ancient tradition of India they have a word for it: "Avatar", meaning a direct expression of Divine Grace.
Diana tells a superb story about day-to-day life in Sathya Sai Baba's household and those people who were close around him. No other western person has been privileged to have such a priceless experience. Diana's story is matchless and will fascinate readers for years to come - for centuries to come - in my humble opinion.
