Sri Sathya Sai Baba
Sri Sathya Sai Baba
Words of Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba from his Biography: "My Mission is to grant you Courage and Joy, to drive away Weakness and Fear. Do not condemn yourselves as sinners; sin is a misnomer for what are really errors, provided you repent sincerely and resolve not to follow Evil again. Pray to the Lord to give you the strength to overcome the habits which had enticed you when you were ignorant."
"I have come to light the lamp of Love in your hearts, to see that it shines day by day with added luster. I have not come on any mission or publicity for any sect or creed or cause nor have I come to collect followers for any doctrine. I have no plans to attract disciples or devotees into my fold or any fold. I have come to tell you of the Universal, Unitary Faith, this Path of Love, this Duty of Love, this Obligation to Love." (Sri Sathya Sai Baba, 4 July 1968)

Loving God
Eighty Five Years under the Watchful Eye of the Lord

Chronicled by Prof. N. Kasturi
Sri Sathya Sai Books and Publications Trust, India, 1982
461 pages; ISBN: 81-7208-169-3

The author, a multi faceted erudite scholar, was an ardent devotee of Sri Sathya Sai Baba and as was closely associated with Him for over four decades. He was also a close witness to Baba's omniscience, omnipotence and omnipresence. Thus, he was a veritable treasure house of reminiscences connected to the miraculous life of the Avatar. When it was put to the author that his vast reserve of reminiscences would be gratefully welcomed by many in a book form, which also had the consent of Baba, the author brought out this autobiography. Narrating how his life had been moulded by the Loving God, Kasturiji faithfully admits how he was not an exception to human follies and errors. Late Kasturi's life exemplifies Baba's saying, "A person is born to learn how not to be born again". The book brings out how, on complete surrender to God Almighty, one's life is taken care of by Him and also how one can develop an attitude of detachment towards pain and pleasure, success and disappointment in ever.

Each person has to live the volumes of biography, which we bring with us, page after page, howsoever punctuated with dots and dashes, interrogations and exclamations, commas and colons, until the sentence ends ultimately with a Full Stop. The author says ‘Luckily I have as my inseparable consul, Bhagavan Himself; He dots the I’s and crosses the t’s as I live the lines on every page. He has made the Book of Life my biography – momentous and meaningful for me’. This book contains a bunch of the author’s reminiscences, which may be welcomed by many readers.

This is a spiritual autobiography by one of Swami's most famous devotees, who was also the author of The Life of Sathya Sai Baba as well as editor of Sanathana Sarathi and numerous Swami volumes. This book covers the adventurous and fascinating early years of Prof. Kasturi's scholarly life in South India as well as the many blissful years of personal relationship in service to Swami at Prashanti Nilayam. One is amazed throughout the autobiography by the prodigious accomplishments and remarkable industry of this gentle man. The stories, the joy, the miracles, flow continuously. This is a life story filled with many spiritual rewards.
