Noble thoughts take one to God's Kingdom
HENNAI, DEC. 1.
The present day allround deterioration in moral
standards can be traced to the absence of fear of sin.
Wicked deeds have become the order of the day. Devotion
to God is diminishing. Man will experience peace and
happiness only when he takes refuge in God and praises
His glory by constantly chanting His names.
Unfortunately, man turns a deaf ear to these things even
when told with all earnestness. But he listens to evil
talk and gossip with eagerness and interest. How then
can he realise Divinity? The need of the hour therefore
is that young men and women should develop and foster
moral values. Humaneness lies in leading a life of
integrity. Everyone should possess the qualities of love
for God (Deiva Preeti), fear of sin (Papa Bheeti) and
morality (Sangha Neeti). But man is cultivating love for
sin and hatred towards God, not knowing that the latter
is the worst of all sins. It is hence necessary to give
him the message which will make him comprehend Divinity.
He should first understand that God has no distinctions
or differences.
God is in
everything and is everywhere. He has no master over Him.
If a man wants to visualise God, he will see Him only in
the form of human beings far superior to him in all
respects. He should have faith in that Supreme Being
having all powers to do anything, at any time, anywhere.
Where there is faith, there will be love when a person
will enjoy peace which will make him adhere to Truth,
which in turn will lead him to experience Bliss within,
resulting in his seeing God. Though God is present in
every human being, always with him, all the time, yet
man looks for Him outside. In order to know that God is
not separate from him, he should undertake to do only
sacred deeds. Charity is the real ornament for the hand,
truth for the neck and listening to holy texts, that for
the ears. Always, seeing, doing, hearing, thinking and
talking good is the way to reach God.
In a lecture, Sri
Sathya Sai Baba said, it is to clear the spiritual path
of a man that God manifests and to save him from turmoil
in which he is immersed. Born as a human being, with
opportunities to pursue this path, he should not
squander them by associating himself with wicked forces.
It is said ``Tell me your company, I shall tell you what
you are''. As is his company, so too he becomes. His
conduct is based on his thoughts which spring out of
desires which in turn depend on the good company he
seeks. Noble thoughts are the royal road to God's
Kingdom.
