Human birth for
enjoying supreme bliss
CHENNAI, AUG. 27. A person
may be highly educated but if he lacks culture, he cannot expect
respect from society. Even if he is extremely intelligent
without morality, he cannot earn adoration of people. He may
occupy a position of authority, but if he crosses certain
limits, people will dislike him without giving charity and
upholding righteousness and without following the path of truth,
it will be futile to expect people to honour him. It is a great
mistake if one conducts himself without fear of sins. Since time
immemorial, people of India had been treading the path of
spirituality, deriving moral strength and bliss therefrom and
sharing the same with others. Today men are unable to experience
this internal joy and they accomplish mighty tasks, but are not
able to realise the divine blessedness.
Human birth is meant to enjoy
this supreme bliss. Once people recognise this goal of human
life, they will understand human values, which indeed are born
with them.
But how to achieve bliss?
With material objects provided to men? No, for this, man has to
develop faith in God and in his own ``self'', where there is
faith, there will be love; where there is love, there will be
peace; when peace is there, truth will prevail, when truth
exists, there will be God and where there is God, there will be
bliss. When the mind is attuned to God, a person will feel peace
within.
Sri Sathya Sai Baba in a
lecture spelt out a method to attain God's grace. It is like
depositing one's hard earned money in a bank for safety. Though
the deposit belongs to the individual, yet the bank manager will
not give cash on just asking for it as certain regulations have
to be followed before its withdrawal.
It can be done only through a
cheque. Likewise, a devotee should have deposited the ``money''
of meritorious deeds with God, the Manager of the ``Divine
Bank'' of the signature of ``Love'' is affixed on the cheque of
sacrifice and surrendered to Him. Only then He will confer the
``wealth'' of His grace on the person concerned. Every man (and
woman) is endowed with such tremendous strength which none of
the other denizens possess. There is limitless power in everyone
but he or she was not able to recognise it. It should be kept in
mind that life is a long journey while desires are his baggage.
``Less the luggage, more is the comfortable travel and even a
pleasure.'' A person is sure to be free from problems and
worries if he reduces his needs.
