Kathmandu, Aug.6:
Comments- favourable or otherwise-
continue even as Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala returns home
Sunday after concluding the first official visit to India by a
Nepali head of government in four years.
Koirala had a darshan of Sathya Sai
Baba at Pattapurthy Prashant Nilayam Saturday.
" There is no mention of SAARC or
the Bhutanese refugee issue in the joint communique. After all the
100,000 Bhutanese refugees came to Nepal via India. Regional
spirit should not be permitted to die " A study of the joint press
statement shows that Nepal has raised all issues with India
although they may not have been resolved.
" The agreement to resolve the
border issue by 2003 is praiseworthy," retired diplomat Yadav Kant
Silwal said.
Silwal is a a former Foreign
Secretary, Secretary General of SAARC and Ambassador. India
scuttled the summit of the seven nation regional South Asian
grouping that was to be held in Kathmandu in November following a
military take-over in Pakistan.
Koirala said his India mission was
to bring wayward relations on " the right track' after the
Christmas eve hi-jacking of an Indian Airlines Airbus by suspected
Kashmiri militants on a regular flight from Kathmandu to New
Delhi. nepalnews.com br
