On
the occasion of the 76th Birth day of Bhagawan Sri Satya Sai
Baba, Friday, November 23, 2001, Sri Satya Sai Books and
Publications Trust has launched a digital audio channel "SAI
GLOBAL HARMONY' on WorldSpace Satellite System for the benefit
of global community. An opening ceremony to mark the
inauguration of 'Sai Global Harmony' took place at Puttaparthi
near Ananthapur in Andhra Pradesh.
For over 60 years, Bhagawan Sri Satya Sai Baba has inspired
millions of people to lead more purposeful and moral lives.
Sri Satya Sai Baba does not seek to start a new religion nor
does he direct his followers to any particular faith. Rather,
he urges people to uphold the ideals of truth, right conduct,
peace, love and nonviolence as they follow the religion of
their choice. By using the unique WorldSpace system of digital
direct satellite broadcasting, 'Sai Global Harmony' will be
able to bring the teachings of Sri Satya Sai Baba to all of
Indian sub-continent.
"WorldSpace is immensely impressed by the humanitarian works
of Bhagawan Sri Satya Sai Baba and is extremely happy to
extend our support in spreading his message of peace and
Harmony" said Noah A.Samara, Chairman & Chief Executive
Officer of WorldSpace Corporation. "Today, the wise and
compassionate words of Bhagawan Sri Satya Sai Baba are more
important than ever as so much of the world is suffering from
conflict and turbulence".
The 'Sai Global Harmony' channel will promote and propagate
Sri Satya Sai Baba's message of universal peace and harmony
across humanity. This 24-hour digital audio service is a
non-commercial initiative between Sri Satya Sai Books and
Publications Trust and WorldSpace Corporation which has
established the first global system for satellite-direct
digital audio and data broadcasting. This channel will be
initially available on the west beam of the AsiaStar Satellite
of WorldSpace.
