BHAGAWAN SRI SATHYA SAI BABA ON EDUCATION
When you look deep into the
theory and practice of modern educational
institutions and compare them with what we know of the theory and
practice in ancient Indian educational institutions, you will be
shocked at
the vast difference in the two systems. The ancient schools aimed at
self
knowledge first and knowledge of the objective world incidentally.
Truly, that
is the sign of the educated man his awareness of his own reality.
How can a
person be termed educated when he does not distinguish between the
really
real and the relatively real in himself as well as in the outer
world?
BHAGAWAN SRI SATHYA SAI BABA
BHAGAWAN SRI SATHYA SAI BABA ON REGAINING HAPPINESS
The spacious mansion, called Sanathana Dharma (Ancient wisdom) was
erected by the sages of the past, to provide peaceful and prosperous
lives
for succeeding generations; but, through the neglect of the very
beneficiary, it has become deserted and is being condemned as
unhabitable! The peace
and joy which those sages hoped for the sons and daughters of India
have
disappeared from their faces. They are today visible only in the
faces of these
little children before me, learning in this school as well as
children elsewhere.
When they grow up, the joy is turned into grief and the peace melts
away
into anxiety. The elders have lost the art of regaining joy and
peace, and
retaining them.
BHAGAWAN SRI SATHYA SAI BABA
RAMAYANA Episode 2
King Dhasaratha have given one of his wives Kaykeyi a wish which she
had put off for years. Now she requested that Rama be banished to
the forest
for 14 years and that her son Bharata should be crowned as king.
Rama, ever the upholder of truth, was happy to fulfill his fathers
wish. Sita and Lakshman (Rama's devoted younger brother) could not
bear to
be away from Rama so they accompanied him to the forest. On his way
he met
Guha, the forest king in that area. Here Guha is washing Rama's feet.
He then
took them across the holy river Ganga in his boat.
Rama's younger brother Bharata was very devoted to Rama. He did not
know anything about his mother's plot to win him the kingdom. He was
away
at the time. When he returned he went to the forest to bring Rama
back. For
Rama the kingdom was a small thing compared to upholding the word of
his
father. Bharata took Rama's sandals and put them on the throne. He
wisely
ruled the kingdom, serving Rama's sandals and living a simple life
as Rama was
in the forest.
To be continued EVERY weekend
QUESTIONS YOU CAN ASK YOUR PARENTS, ELDERS OR FIND BY YOUR SELF
ARE:-
1) A good mother treats all children (her own and others) as same.
Is
this correct?
2) Sathya means truth. Rama
obeyed his father to protect truth, even
he has to go away from the kingdom. Can we follow Rama in this way
if we had
to loose our material wealth to save the truth?
3) Guha helped Rama as his own
brother selflessly. Is this a good
practice to treat everyone as our own brothers and sisters and help
them when
there is a need?
4) Bharatha kept Rama’s sandals
on throne and ruled the country on
behalf of him. Even after given all the material wealth and highest
position,
he is still a humble servant to Rama. Is this a good lesson to learn
that
we should not forget god even at any level?
5) Bowing and giving our self
completely to the lotus feet of
Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba will give us peace and liberation. Is
this what is
represented in the story as sandals kept in throne? Does that also
symbolizes there is nothing greater in this world is worth attaining
than the Lotus feet of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba?
