We meet every weekend. This letter is for you, to love your parents and
every parent in this world.

If we are unable to come on weekends please excuse us. There may be some
reasons. You should always keep loving and enjoy your life with love. Tell
your parents or elders to receive this email print it and give it to you.
You can share our SAI BALA with all your friends. If you do not understand
any big words, ask your parents they will help you. Your parent is your

THIS WEEK’S MESSAGE BY BHAGAWAN SRI SATHYA SAI BABA

Students! You are the embodiment of the Divine! There are two aspects of
wisdom that you have to master: understanding the world around us, science;
and also the higher learning, the art of controlling the inner feelings and
heeding conscience. Each student has a watch on his wrist. You look at the
watch at least a hundred times a day. Well, learn rom the watch a great
lesson. When you watch the watch, remember the five letters of the word,
WATCH. Each is giving you a fine lesson for life: W tells you, Watch your
Words; A warns you Watch your Action; T indicates, Watch your Thoughts; C
advises, Watch your Character; and H declares, Watch your Heart, When you
are consulting your watch, imbibe this lesson that the watch is imparting.

STORY FOR THIS WEEK

THE PURNAVATARAS

According to the Indian conception, the Lord Vishnu has so far descended
incarnate in nine forms, UNTIL THE CURRENT SHRI SATYA SAI BABA THE
YUGAVATARA.

4. NRISIMHA

Man- lion incarnation. Hiranyaksha’s brother Hiranyakashipu did not heed the
lesson of the death of his brother. Pralhada his son understood it well. But
Hiranyakashipu continued in his old ways ignoring the fate his brother had
met, at the hands of the roused peoples power. He felt that with a little
show of strength, the rebellion against his brother’s ways, can be
suppressed.

He, therefore, issued a proclamation that in his Kingdom the name of Vishnu
or Narayan as the creator of this universe, should not be uttered. He also
banned the study of the Vedas in his Kingdom. But his son Pralhada knew that
the people in general were not averse to the Vedic way of life. On the
contrary they continued to have faith in the Lord Vishnu, or Narayana who
was the source of bliss. From him flowed the river of happiness. But
Hiranyakashipu would not understand the people’s yearnings of the hearts.

The people accepted the leadership of Pralhada. Sensing that Pralhada his
son held views contrary to his, he began torturing his son. He made his life
unbearable. With absolute faith in the Lord Narayana, Pralhada continued in
his love for his people.

Hiranyakashipu one day lost his balance and decided to put Pralhada to
death. He asked Pralhada: where is your Narayana? Will he save you, if I now
try to kill you? I give you the last chance to mend your ways. But Pralhada
calmly answered, Oh father! Lord is everywhere. The king now beside himself
with rage asked: Is he in this Pillar? Pralhada said, Yes. Hiranyakashipu
struck the nearby pillar by his feet with vehemence. And lo! The Lord
appeared as man-lion and killed the demon by tearing his stomach with his
sharp nails.

The point is that simple concentration on sense enjoyment is not conducive
to one’s happiness. The more you want to enjoy, the desires to get more
become inflamed. Then there is no end to this passion to get more. But there
is a limit to everything. You can not get all what you want. Because of this
the Ishavasya Upanishad tells us. Ten tyakten bhunjithah enjoy with an eye
on sacrifice ie distribute if you have more than you need. That is the way
to happiness. For just as fire is fuelled by oblations, similarly your
desires become insatiable by more and more wants, so says the Mahabharata.
Controlled life is the good life.

Hiranyakashipu had the boon that he would not be killed by man, animal or by
anybody. He would not also be killed during day or by night, nor would he be
killed in the house or outside the house. This shows that he had a sway over
large tracts of land and he was the most powerful Emperor of the day. It was
his foolishness that he would not be killed by anybody. He always moved with
the tightest of security. Yet he had to die when people under the leadership
of Pralhada rose in revolt. One terrible man as fierce as a lion, from
amongst them, killed him.

The person in power is always afraid of the others. He always feels that he
can get everything through the medium of money. But there is a mighty power
ruling over the destinies of men. Even the mightiest of emperors should be
humble enough to pay homage to the men with righteous conduct. This is the
essence of the Vedic way of life.
